On a side note - Ive decided watching Xfactor recorded is the way forward - managed to do the whole Sunday show in 10 minutes after getting back from Lee Mack

It does and it doesn't. It's a talent contest but at the same time it's the public who put the contestants through. Someone's voting for them.
If people who watch are annoyed that they're still in the competition then they're really annoyed with the format of the programme itself.
