but I've tried searching the TEF and official website and can't find the link to the 2008 accounts. I'm sure someone posted it not long ago (Batch?).

I'm trying to keep a copy of all the links to and copies of the accounts and other AGM stuff. Mainly because it's impossible to find again online.

All the talk of self sufficiency made me think we should see how we're doing compared to the Wills years. I know we won't find that out for another year or two really, but history is our benchmark so these are a good reference point.

Cheers,

Your geeky accounting internet friend who no longer works in accounts.

I remember someone posting details of the really rubbish acciounts for the year Fitton took over, something in the region of a £2.5m loss if I remember it correctly.

I have 2006 and 2007 from the website, 2005 and previous on my pc at home.

This is my only issue with an online only system, it's difficult to find things using the club website as it's not very good.

As at May '07, but at May '08 the players were 'worth' £292k, as we bought in Cox, McNamee and JPM.

Hope the Natwest in newbury has been rewired since i did it 20 odd years ago, otherwise all our savings will go up in smoke.

Thanks Jonny, great help!

May. I don't think the accounts are going to look stable for another year or so though, well the balance sheet. They were so messed up before it'll take a lot of time to tidy them up. The profit and loss account will be the main point of interest but again I think they won't be pretty, with a lot of hangers on still on the books in 2009. 2010 is where we should start seeing a better picture, the Cox sale will hopefully even out the loss position regardless of where the money has been spent, unless we have a few players on super wages eating up that profit.

I think so. I seem to recall Fitton mentioning a similar figure for staff/player wages at the AGM back last year.

Wages make up a large proportion of cost of sales.

Its not the wages as that is in with the "cost of sales" figure. It looks like some kind of write down, but I'm sure an accountant type could tell you exactly what it is - company accounts aren't straight forward and you need to know what you're doing to fully understand them.
