DV's maxim should be applied to all matters STFC, and then add on some more cynicism when you do see it.

As my dad says "don't believe anything you read, and only half of what you see"

Wilson hasn't said he's signed as far as I can tell, just that he expects it to happen.

Robinson was a verbal agreement which most fans thought would go tits up because other clubs can come in. Unless a Championship team decides to come in for this other player then we will get him.

surely if its a month loan he will be here until 2 weeks into september not at the end of august

Wilson says an initial months loan so I'd assume it is a month and in that time it gives the player time to look at us, us time to look at the player and ensure he is good enough for this level and if everything is fine we will sign him until the end of the season.

No word on the 'Championship' striker then

The player i think it is (i wont say his name for poaching reasons) was on loan in the championship last season,2 goals in 30 games...poor,i know. Obvious choice is to drop down to league one for a bit to see if he can hack it here.

Plus the month loan might just be for cover while DW looks elsewhere for the other two longer loanee/permanent strikers he has wanted.

I'm with DV - show me the "scarf over the head" picture, until then 99% is worth the same as 1%.

A classic was at the Yeovil game a couple of years back, when new owners were wheeled out on the pitch...and even interviewed on Sky....only they weren't.

Oooh, and actually that breaks my "scarf over the head pic" rule as we had one of those with Jim Little

Optimism is much healthier. I'm sure we'll have a couple of new strikers in very soon.

The name i've heard hasn't played for anyone other than the club he's coming from... And his country...

Some of us can remember watching us win a match to get to the top flight, yet strangely we didn't end up there.

A healthy dose of cynicism is the only way for an STFC fan to last the course.

Fair play

Just in case every Championship and L1 manager is glued to this forum.

Just tell us FFS, so we can then all take the piss when you get it wrong

his name is an anagram of Patio Obeyed, and there's a valid reason it's only for a month..
