What happened to the Drummer? It was up the top of Station Rd, by the Naafi.
When I was there the Ram was pretty much off limits to squaddies, as the local population used it. We drank in the Drummer, or went into Andover (Especially on the nights The Country Bumpkin was open!)
The Drummer was a Naafi bar wasn't it? It is now one of those mini bowling alleys where the pins are on strings. |

Was it always called the ram,
As long as I've known it...as a kid so we're talking a long time ago, the family used to go down to the South Coast for a day out, and always stopped off at The Ram on the way home. Back then the drink drive limit was about 6 pints. |

No they've done it all, basically we'll see how it goes whilst we wait to see if we can purchase the rivals domain and the archives (if at all) We have a host server if we can. In the meantime i'm doing the admin and will see if i can tone it down a bit over the next few days, dont want riddel frothing and barking at the moon.

Well we've gone "live" ,still rounding up the stragglers, and if you pop over make sure your pop up blocker is working! http://www.fansonline.net/swindontown/mb/ Riddel hasn't yet worked out how to get round the swearing filter, so if you are of a sensitive disposition now might be a good time. We''ll be working on streamlining it,as much as possible, as we'll only be posting the usual crap no doubt. Thanks to those who offered advice and donations for the domain purchase ( i still haven't heard). I would imagine those who signed up here in the last week will continue to visit, as will us mormon type dual members. And for those who would like to know Riddel had mince and carrots for lunch, i await with baited breath on leroys purchase. Thanks again for hosting the refugees with genorosity and good grace also. |
