Phil Smith was chatting pre game vs Scunthorpe for the first game of the season and chatting about how he totally fell out of love with football and hated it until fairly recently. I can fully understand that when its your job, when I managed a band for 5 years I almost stopped listening to music as it seemed more like work than fun. The Pericard thing....thats a whole new ball game though!

I think its a different Perricard “Zidane, I remember, moving past me with the ball so effortlessly, as if he was flying, while Del Piero’s first touch was absolutely faultless. I was able to keep up with the quality and standard which made me think, ‘yes, I belong here’. I adapted to a certain level.”

Under Williams I was frustrated but hopeful something would change in time. That change didn't come.
Last season I was angry but still wanted to watch in the hope we might scrape through.
Under Flitcroft - I just lost all will to watch it. It became a chore. A chore that I dreaded.

I watched every game (virtually) last season, in the same way I used to watch Trump, out of a sort of morbid fascination at how low it could possibly go.
Which reminds me that the season I watched the most games irl was 82-83 under Beamish, the year that saw us finish 18th in Division 4, our lowest ever league position.
Anger is an energy, as someone once said.

I find it difficult to watch us live on iFollow - it’s not really enjoyable for me - but I persevere. Last season I didn’t watch many even though I had an ST. Who wants to watch your team being such a shambles?

Me apparently. In other news, I also enjoy early Cure, Joy Division and The Sound. As someone else once said, happiness is easy.

Under Williams you could see that there was a footballing identity and there is probably much similarities with the current style being implemented at Town under Garner. Essentially it is Prem Academy football being played in the league. Unfortunately for Luke he was a bit too pally rather than bossy (a hard balance, especially if you're a nice ish bloke) and the system played appeared too fixed. As FH says, it became frustrating because there was likely some good talent there. I blame Power though for sticking with him for much longer than he should have. The contract length was always a bizarre one too...
Last season, I was incredibly torn. I didn't really want Sheridan from the off but similarly, the hope of just bloody staying up and rebuilding in L1 kept me invested. Going down in some respects is probably a huge blessing - regardless of how hard it hurt.
Flitcroft? It was purely synergy and microwaves wasn't it?!
