I know not many will agree but I still think theres a player in Shade somewhere. Good luck to him and his future away from Swindon, the fans there love him as "one of their own".

Easily good enough for us but he's not a wing-back. If we were going to stick with 433 I'd have him in at LWF. Fast, tricky and a goal threat.

He played 71 times for Swindon, he's not someone who didn't get a chance. He could be successful in the right position and the right style of play, but we don't play in a way that suits him. Solihull clearly do and good luck to him and them.

Exactly where my head's at. Never played a system to suit him.

Shade is one of those typical lower league players. Everyone looks at him, his physicality, speed, ability to use either foot and thinks there is player in there. Thats what will keep him playing the game for years.

At somepoint though, you kinda have to accept, there isn't a player in there. Or if there is, who the fuck knows who can get it out of him, because we have had 4 managers who couldn't!

I would say Shade's biggest problem is he has no footballing brain (the most important thing in a player for me), he is aimless, he doesnt know where to run or position himself etc etc.

I think perhaps he has just found his level honestly.

A grand total of eight places in the Pyramid lower than us!

Always struck me as a player who has the ability & attributes but not much of a football brain.
Seemed much better when he did things instinctively, but not so good when he had to think about it.

Fairly similar in that way to RHM

TBH we have quite a few players like that, Khan, RHM, Devoy, Aguiar etc all seem to lack something in the football stakes, all show glimpses but none quite deliver in terms of footballing quality, unlike McGurk and Glaztel for instance.

Both of which are below where we should aim to be, so he is not good enough for us, if we want better.

Agreed. Iandolo was a classic for no brain.

I just think if they have a brain then chances are they can make up for other weaknesses in their game, and they can also learn how to adapt, and take on information from managers. So i would rather take a punt on a slower paced player with a brain, than a faster player without one. See Shade/RHM/Shakes/O'Brien/Woolery etc etc etc

Ahh, if only...if only...

I'm sure the aforementioned sing this every day. I would love to see a parody where Anthony Hall is singing this a la Scarecrow.
