Why would Stevens leave a newly promoted League 1 side to join a League 2 side?

Why would Collins leave a newly promoted League 1 side to join a League 2 side.?

So both unrealistic.....

Telford only just signed a new contract at Newport, has had enquiries at League 1 sides, why would he move to another League 2 side.....

They wouldn’t leave a league one club. Just giving you players from last season.
Simpson over Davison for me.
Both unknown before the season kicked off. Just unfortunate Ipswich pissed the lad right off.

Equally we missed a trick not signing another striker at the start of the season.

My problem with Davison is I can’t see him as more than a short-term fix. He wouldn’t cut it in the league above.

But then, I wrote Simpson off in the early part of the season. Though Simpson learnt more and quicker at 19 than Davison has at 23.

I'm widdled and I understands what he be sayin!

He be giving examples of better L2 forwards to show that Davison ain't one of the top L2 players in the div.

If we d'wanna finish in the promotion places, we could do wiv a top striker. Davison ain't one

He d'have moments. But he d'have lots of bits of shiteness n'all!

You can’t be that pissed 😂🍺

In a world of one and two year contracts in the lower league - every player is a short term fix.

Preferred Simpson over Davison.
Spot on about League Two and what is available but we could do better.
Matt and Stevens at FGR, Telford at Newport, Collins at the Gas, Drinan at Orient.
Would take these over Davison.

The chances he missed last season, general positioning and not reading the line getting caught offside was frustrating.

All about opinions clearly.

A young lad (22 years old) with some decent attributes that is very coachable. He doesn't have that goalscoring instinct a la Austin or Doyle and he did miss chances but to completely dismiss him is a bit daft.

For some context...

Davison at 21 / 22 years old (League Two)
9 goals in 23 games

Stevens at 21 / 22 years old (League Two)
7 goals in 36 games

Telford at 21 / 22 years old (League One)
5 goals in 24 games

Jamille Matt at 21 /22 years old (Conference National)
3 goals in 22 games

Aaron Drinan at 21/22 years old (Irish Premier League)
7 goals in 19 games

Aaron Collins at 21/22 (League Two)
5 goals in 33 games

The people that don't rate Davison probably thought Elijah Adebayo was a non league footballer at best.

Best ignored.

I can’t believe that people are so wound up and turning on each other because of a different opinion (ITK or not), or even more ridiculous, a video from Twitter…

Then again, carry on, it takes up some time while waiting for the manager to be announced, carry on - I wasn’t here..

I'd be happy with Davison as number 9. 10 goals in half a season, = 20 goals over a full season. A decent return.

I just don’t rate him enough, work rate unquestioned.
Can we do better? I hope so.
You could definitely raise the argument around Louie Barry and is he as effective as Davison?

I get that young players are unfinished and can improve.
Just hoping we can unearth a loan gem or dare day strike lucky with a signing.
Still my opinion I would take Simpson over Davison if given a straight choice.

I could see the potential with that lad.
Fluffed his lines a few times but had some qualities. Took plenty of pelters with him in the process.
Look at Louie Barry - From what we have seen you wouldn’t think he has Championship credentials but he is a kid and you see flashes of quality.
Dele Ali another.

We only see these players 90 mins in a week.

Certainly wouldn’t be suicidal over him signing and have a feeling he may well sign.
More important is having another option up front this season to change games. That was definitely missing throughout the last season. Just hope we can do better.

Don’t think many people would be against Davison being here next season…but…I do think a lot of people would be against him being our main (or worse yet only) striker…
