The stadium at falmer was only given the go ahead on very certain specific recommendations. Its situated on the sussex downs in a national trust park, part of the stadium is going to be dug into the hillside and have a grass camoflauged roof. The architects intial drawings look pretty amazing to be fair.

There should be a stadium planning law which imposes random restrictions on planning permission for stadiums; might force clubs to use a bit more imagination.

They're gonna be mowing the roof? Superb.

Quote of the day....
Quote
Brighton, which was once described by Keith Waterhouse as "a town that looks like it's helping police with their inquiries"

Will they have sheep grazing on the roof?

That should be written into the planning permission.

Sorry the 15m

I think £15m is the combined cost of the land and construction work.

The actual and current value of the stadium is another issue altogether, though you can bet that Kassam is wanting to recoup all of his original investment if any deal is to be done.

It's a tricky one, hence the 1/2 year timescale for a deal to be thrashed out.

£15m for a 12,000 doesn't seem too bad when Brighton are shelling out £93m for a 22,000.

The Brighton build costs are £60m, rest are fees / land purchase / consultants etc.

Still a shit load of money for a shit capacity stadium.

The modern football stadium isnt about the capacity. Its about the corporate facilites. Brigthons will be very well if i recall correctly
