I found this photo on-line yesterday of the 5-1 home defeat to Northampton on 8 May 1983, it is one of Northampton's goals being scored.

Anyone recognize themself on the Stratton Bank?

That's an absolutely gorgeous image. Any idea who it's credited to or is it an ''uncredited'' PA Archive? Thanks for sharing

Shame Hmmm... It undeniably screams ''the eighties'' and we can also never beat film when film is executed in the right way.

This isn't an old County Ground photo but neverless is of Swindon playing away at Shrewsbury Town in 1952 (so the post on facebook said).

This photo is for sale on E-bay, it says it's from the Northampton Swindon game on 10 November 1984.

For any other Swindon fan there that day (I was) you have my commiserations, an awful 4-0 defeat.

I was there that day, horrible performances and day out and the Cobblers fans were wankers that day, loads of trouble pre and post game.

I was there the following season when we won 1-0 (Charlie Henry) and a Town fan got stabbed before the game.

Can’t remember which was worse. Afters at Northampton or afters at Wrexham.

I’d say - Wrexham.
