So the supporters club built it? It appears so. Interesting that it was seated back then.

Not an old photo but a snapshot of the equivalent of 2nd tier football 50 years ago. Some names and dreadful crowds there.

the Bloody hell. Roy Greenwood scored. One of my favourite lines from Bring the Noise, paraphrased significantly was:- "When Greenwood was at Derby, he was known for his pace, trickery and ginger beard. When he got to Swindon, the pace and trickery had gone and the ginger beard was of little use in tormenting opposing defences." I really miss BTN.

Greenwood was great, right up to the point he got on the ball, then it all went to shit. Long remembered for being utterly unmemorable in his time with us. How he managed to still score 7 goals for Town is beyond me though.

I found this photo on-line yesterday of the 5-1 home defeat to Northampton on 8 May 1983, it is one of Northampton's goals being scored.
Anyone recognize themself on the Stratton Bank?

Great photo Bedford although it must have still been cold in early May judging by the coats and jackets some are wearing. What a polite gathering on the Bank full of ladies and gentlemen and not an overweight person in sight so we must have eaten more healthily and looked after ourselves back in the early 80’s

Thanks for that Bedford. For years I falsely remembered Jimmy Quinn going in goal and conceding 4 of the goals after Jimmy Allan went off after about 15 mins, but that pic definately shows Andy Rowland in goal. That was the game when Corbiere was paraded round the ground pre game after his Grand National win by Town fan and trainer Jenny Pitman.

My word. Right where I used to stand. I used to stand at the back of the Shrivenham Road stand, about where the arrow and circle are shown. Happy days (Well some of them).
