Loads of options if he needs replacing. a season long loan from a proven championship fringe player,a lowere prem reserve/youth (just like cox once was). razak's in the frame is wilson can get him upto scratch in pre season - if he's given a contract.
I don't think any discussion about players we need is relevant until we know who's definately in the squad next season. It will be an interesting summer anyway.

I think everybody hopes he'll sign a new contract and hangs about for another season. I think it would be silly to expect it though.
what Ben said.

Am I right in thinking he's got another year left on his contract?

Yes.... Unless he signs a year extension, he will be sold because there will be offers and his value is only going to decrease as we move towards June '10

Here is an interesting fact for you: Would you believe that, basic, he is not the highest paid player at the club?
He is very highly incentivised (sp?).

Exactly my thought process. Cash in now rather than risk losing him for nothing in 12 months (assuming he doesn't sign an extension). I'd much rather he stayed mind, signing an extension in the process. I can dream on......

He's only just turned 22 so wouldnt go for nothing. We'd get compensation for developing him for 2 seasons. Wouldnt be even a 10th of what he is worth. Parkin signed a year extension and gave us an extra year so Cox might. Of course Parkin wasnt as a good as Cox, didnt get as much media attention as Cox and no one put in bids for Parkin like the bids we will probably/hopefully/definitely get for Cox.

Alot of people say Posh baught there way out of the division, maybe true but also they turned down 2million for Mclean....Wolves being the bidders, they didnt sell, for this club to move on weve got to stop selling...ive got a sneaky feeling Cox will stay one more season.

The best move of the summer would be to replace Budgie with DV I reckon. I'm beginning to sound like a parrot...

The difference is Mclean had more than a year left on his contract. He was then and still is now contracted till 2011
If Cox had 2 years left then we'd keep him.

Forgot about the age/compo thing. Point well made. I still say cash in though (at the right price).
