I've been in Liquid 4 times I think, each time I've had a laugh and not really paid much attention to the place, although it does seem too sanitised for some reason, maybe as I'm comparing it to Brunel. I've been invited to go again on Sunday as well.
Can Rehab be classed as a nightclub? I thought it was just a late opening bar like most of the other places in Swindon.

From my point of view the problem with going out in Swindon is its all late opening chain pubs. There really aren't any proper nightclubs in town except Furnace, which is good but there is no club that plays decent dance music every weekend. Brunel used to have some good events but even then it wasn't regular. In Bristol theres a proper rve scene with a choice of nights but a place the size of Swindon usually has one decent dance music club.

Wow, I'm glas people on here agree that Liquid isn't all that great. A few of my friends are always in there and I don't really like the place anymore as its full of chavs as people have mentioned.

Yep unless you go to Furnace basically its all extreme drunkeness, lairyness and slags. To a cheesy soundtrack. Or if you go up Old Town maybe trendy wankers. soapy tit wank

There is nothing wrong with that its fun but theres no alternative. Also I'm not really drinking at the mo (for good reason) so Swindon isn't the best place for me to go out. Plus having a gf I can't get with any of the easy drunk girls.

I always think there's loads of things to do in Swindon besides lashing it up, some of them might not be too obvious and take a bit of finding, depending on your interests.

Even if the best nightclub opened up in Swindon people would still moan about something. The chavs would still be there for a start. That's why we never get anything good* in Swindon because there isn't a market for it.
*This is more perceived than actual goodness.

So you want to go out Friday/Sat with the gf, to somewhere not too drink dependent and which isn't a meat market full of chavs? Do you do food?

My mate is running the new Apartments shin dig and i had a look round there this evening. The restaurant looks top quality, they've really changed it down there, and they are serving food until 3am with a DJ and everything. On top of that they are opening the top two rooms as the new 'Corner Club' they've done really well with it, it looks swell and they've re-done all the sound and re-jigged the VIP room. Fair few of us making the trip tomorrow night, looking forward to it.
by the way, it's free entry all weekend so worth a go. Better than what you get in Liquid that's for sure.

Basically I guess I'm just really thinking there isn't much of a rave scene, which is what I'm into and the sort of nights I go to in Bristol. Places where lots of people are getting high I guess. Swindons not that bad for pubs for example I still like The Savoy, largely for nostalgic reasons. Its just I feel after 11\12 at night the options are limited. Like I said I do quite like Furnace though. If not a decent proper club then a decent sized live music venue so Swindon would get well known bands visit more often would be great.
