I am a proud Oasis fan. Not because I'm a "lad" (I'm not) but because I think in the 90s they took on the mantle from the Stone Roses and made British music exciting again. On this, and having recently bought Dig Out Your Soul, I would like to propose a list based debate. List each Oasis studio album (include The Masterplan) in order of preference.
1. Definitely Maybe. 2. (what's the story) Morning Glory? 3. Don't Believe The Truth. 4. The Masterplan 5. Dig Out Your Soul. 6. Heathen Chemisty. 7. Be Here Now 8. Standing On The Shoulder of Giants.
I love the top four. Dig Out Your Soul is growing on me. Heathen Chemistry is a good listen as an indication of a band returning to form. Be Here Now would be good if each song was half as long. SOTSOG, apart from 3 songs (Fuckin in the Bushes, Gas Panic and Go Let it Out) is toss bollocks.

Cigarettes and Alcohol is an absolte classic but they've also produced some real shite and the albums tend to be brilliant to start with and then get worse over time.

1. What's the Story Morning Glory 2. Heathen Chemistry 3. Definately Maybe 4. The Masterplan 5. Dig Out Your Soul 6. Be Here Now 7. Don't Believe The Truth 8. Standing on the Shoulders of Giants
I really like Heathen Chemistry, never understood why it got such a bad reception all round. Standing on the Shoulders is toss and Be Here Now too elongated as aforementioned though.

Fair play. Can I ask why Don't Believe The Truth is so low? You give reasons for the other two in the bottom three but not DBTT.

An interesting idea for a thread. I'm not really a proper oasis fan and don't really know most of those albums so can't really do my own list.

http://thetownend.com/index.php/topic,33830.msg684902/topicseen.html#quickreplyIt wasn't awful, just pretty forgettable. I haven't really listened to it a great deal to be fair, but it's there aren't many tracks that stand out on it.

1) Definately Maybe 2) Morning Glory 3) Masterplan 4) Be Here now
As for the rest, they're all pretty much the same. Each album has one or two great anthems and the rest just dross. Still love them mind and can't wait for Wembley in July. I've not seen Oasis live for a few years now.

Agree with Melksham on this, not bothered about anything else they've done.

I stopped there. Not sure why, just found their third album a bit dull so didn't buy it.

The best three are definitely Maybe, what's the story and be here now. All the rest is mainly bad, latest album has one or two decent songs.
