I dont look at my poo.
It tells a lot about a person, the colour of their poo, unless of course you are a Squirter McQuirter!!

Generally you can’t go wrong with a bottle of Rioja, which always ignored or underrated as a red.
Campo Viejo is always a good bet and prices vary but start off reasonably affordable.
You want to get involved with the old Virgin Wines club if you go through a few bottles. There is no obligation to buy and if you get the right deal you can pick 12 bottles worth over £180 RRP for as little as £60 delivered.
They usually have £50 off introductory deals to boot.
I use these and can recommend them - the advisors are pretty good to boot. So long as you don't take the mickey they're usually willing to credit for stuff you say you don't like as well Rioja is a bit oaky for my taste, but I enjoy it occasionally. a Chilean or Australian Merlot, Cab Sauv, or Carmaneret works for me. Not a Shiraz fan

Château Pétrus has a fine reputation, never tried it though As Basil Fawlty once said, "He doesn't don't know a Beaujolais from a Claret".
