Re: Facebook status updates. I put a status for the second time today - my first got me a warning from Facebook - i really felt like a twat doing it as well. Your post is correct Ben, or at least yourb friend's take on it is. I've got 2 mates whose status always makes me feel embarrassed to know them. I've got one who always posts things that make himself sound super important, when anyone who knows him, knows the opposite is true. And another who has a few quid, and by a few quid i mean seven figures. He's a bit of a tosspot, probably because he came into the money, but pretends he's a property developer, amongst other things. His staus updates are things like, "XXXX can't wait for his new DB9 to arrive" and "XXXX is spending Xmas and New Year in New York". He's a nice bloke though.

If the status updates annoy you that much, you wouldn't login to facebook.
I can honestly say that facebook is as I expected, pointless. But then so is this forum in the grand scheme of things. That's what actually makes it quite entertaining.
I reckon quite a few people on here will be on this Tritter thing before too long. Must say I've never heard of it until today. It sounds even more pointless than facebook too, so I'll think I'll avoid it for as long as possible.

Twitter is great its like legal stalking.I follow Johnathon Ross,Richard Bacon,Stephen Fry ,Philip Schofiled and a few other randoms. How else would I get to interact with such superstars? How else would I know Fry is stuck in a lift and the lift technicain will be 45 minutes or that Bacons Mum is thinking of buying a horrible Badger Ornament and be able to influence her not to? Its just a bit of fun.
Having seen Bacon on Something For The Weekend the last few weeks, i've now decided he's one of the funniest blokes on TV. Very subtle and witty.

As someone who uses Facebook to stay in touch with people I hardly ever see, due to distance, I think it's a good communication tool.
This sniffy attitude of Ben's, his boyfriend and OF is pathetic. If you don't like Facebook, don't go on it.
You sound like a bunch of whiny cunts.

hahaha Oh no someone critisised my precious facebook and my silly facebook changes I'm going to cry in a corner. Who's a whiny little cunt now? I too use facebook to keep in touch with people I don't have much contact with otherwise - generally old uni mates. Doesn't mean that constant status changes aren't gay. It's only a bit of fun hertha.

A friend from the U.K. tracked me down through facebook before coming here once, so it has its uses.
Aides from that I don't bother much and I don't like that chat thing, it's all a bit too much socialising to me.

My ex is a friend on facebook, which is cool as we're still friends. But last week I got a message on there from her mum. Her mum is 83.
From what I remember of her she couldn't even use the video recorder!
