Just got the 50th anniversary boxed set. 18 episodes of Sgt Bilko (The funny tv series, not the shite film) and loads of extras.

I fucking love Sgt Bilko!

Some comedies from the 50's are well past their sell by date, but Bilko is timeless. I really think it's one of the funniest tv series ever made.

Anyone who liked Topcat as a kid would love it. Phil Silvers can make me smile just looking at him.

As a kiddy in Germany I used to watch onThe Phil Silvers Show on a Saturday morning - I loved Top Cat, Maurice Gosfield voiced Benny the Ball in TC and Pvt. Doberman in Bilko - what a career.

Timeless as above, i work with a typical 22 year old at work, bar the fact he loves Bilko and is about 2/3 rd's the way through the boxset, he's spends his lunch hour watching a couple of episodes, i was astounded when i found out.

Although currently out of stock, Bilko is £11.99+free delivery on HMV.co.uk - not a plug, just rare-ish that HMV does a good deal!
