the last home derby wasnt even 8,000 was it?

Having not played them for so long i'd expect either a bumper crowd for our first home derby in fucking years or a really crap crowd because no one remembers/cares/hates Oxford anymore...

Oxford only half filled their allocation that day.

A year later and they were moaning on our message boards that we hadnt sold out our allocation for the Cup game, three days after the draw! They were still on sale to the season ticket holders only.

I think we got and sold 3,500 tickets. Which is probably the biggest ever away attendance in an Swindon - Scumford derby.

I remember a night game at the CG in the 90's and the crowd was 13,000.

The first game at the Manor 65-66 had a crowd of 16,000....that season we averaged just about 13000...they just over 5000. It was probably a 50/50 split.

The last time we had a game after a roughly 6 year wait...it was just over 10,000 at the CG. The 7th highest crowd that season in 88/89.

I'm fairly sure our allocation was no more than 2500. either way, i'm not sure i've heard a better atmosphere than there was that day.

Back of the fucking net.

10,600, a 2-0 win at home to our biggest divisional rivals, and a blinder of a goal.

OF, why are Oxford getting pretty respectable crowds in the last couple of seasons? It wasn't always the case  Smiley
