Saw him at the Rainbow Hotel in Torquay before he was well known - he had everybody in stitches except our area manager who was a very religious man and didn't appreciate him at all! Met him after a show some years later and mentioned that to him and he told us he struggled to get paid for that gig and the hotel manager had told him he woul never make it as a comedian as long as he had a hole in his backside!! Then he gave a hearty laugh and said "I wonder where he is now!" Very funny man and will be much missed. Stopped touring a couple of years ago owing to the onset of alzheimers/dementia.

Absolutely superb live, was lucky enough to see him a couple of times. Got most of his DVD's, still watch them from time to time, never cease to make me laugh even though I know exactly what is coming. A real 'natural ' comedian.

A certain John Skull I noticed in the Adver died recently, aged 89. I wondered if this was the speedy Town winger, and later a physio. I saw him play a few times. RIP anyway.

A certain John Skull I noticed in the Adver died recently, aged 89. I wondered if this was the speedy Town winger, and later a physio. I saw him play a few times. RIP anyway.
He is the right age, although I never knew him of course but it seems very possible, a very unusual surname. |

Yes the very same, has a family physio ( now run by his son)in old town, I used to live next door to him |
