No but if Christiano Ronaldo falls over in the box, does anyone need to be near him?

Impossible. Objects of any mass cannot travel at the speed of light.

I've done a diagram. If the lights are on the sleigh won't the reindeer get in the way?

I hope this maths stands up:

The speed of light is 186,000 miles per second (I think).

Santa's sleigh 'only' has to do 650 miles per second to get round all 108 million Christian households on earth (assuming a total distance of 75.5 million miles) in 31 hours.

That's still almost 25 times faster than the Ulysees space probe, but you would theoretically be able to see his lights, yes. Except for the fact - as Ben has quite correctly pointed out - that his reindeer would get in the way.
