This morning on my way to work at the station there were 20 police with 4 police dogs 2 of the horrible ankle biting things and 2 sniffers dogs. The police had formed a cordon so you had to walk past the dogs. Anyhow I thought this all abit ott and thought I would send a pic to bushey. So there I am snapping a few shots with my mobile when one of the coppers strolls up and tells me to stop taking pics. I said no and pointed out I had every right to take photo's in public. Next thing I know I have a 4 policeman around me and one of them say's they are going to search me. I told them he would be required to give me the stop and search form and the copper responed by calling me a smart arse at that point I lost my temper abit as all this bollocks had made me miss my train. Anyhow to cut a long stroy short I kicked up a fuss and in the end I got the sergant in charge to aplogise to me for how I was treated they still searched me though the reason being was they thought I was acting suspisonly. I have lodged a complaint with the police and have requested £500 for the embrassment casued at being treated like a crim for seeming being smarter than the copper cunt.

Why do the police have to be such cunts and their lack of knowledge regarding what they can and can't do it scary. What makes it worse is that they have so much power so they can really fuck you even if you have done nothing.  Angry Angry Angry

To answer the original question, "Do we live in a Police State?"

The answer, quite simply, is NO.

Normally I'd probably agree that the police can in some cases be a little heavy handed in their approach. However in this case I'd like to congratulate them on their actions. My one criticism would be that they stopped short of taking things to the brutality stage. Three cheers for our boys in blue.

Last night there was a discussion on Question Time about the police becoming politicised...I guess that's the problem, and it's wrong.  However, the irony of discussing this issue in Northern Ireland was not lost on the audience.

The police are like any organisation in the spotlight...the bad minority tarnish the good majority...but they dont make things easy for us to respect them.
Last week a man was getting violent with a lady at the end of our street..the lady had to kids with her who were very upset...i wanted to tell the bloke to lay off but i didnt want the kids to get more upset...so i rang the police, and then it happened...they knocked on my door and in front of this muppet aked me if it was me who rang the police..i couldnt believe it...a good job this fella was out of it or there couldhave been fireworks....as for a police state, well on the roads its close to one...they drive about in a more dangerous way than we do...generally though it could be worse.

We are becoming a nanny state, don't smack your children, don't binge drink, speed twice and we'll ban you, yadda, yadda, yadda.

It's nothing compared to the stupidity of the ID card proposal.

And I thought the fact you can be retained under (house) arrest under the  anti-terrorism act without charge would be more of a worry too.

Still, I'd have hoped in GFM's case they'd have got the latex gloves out. That would be something to complain about.

Thing is Batch its a fine line i spose,i mean i think a DNA scrape at birth is a good idea...but a lot of people disagree why?...it saves alot of work and most crimes could be matched to the criminal within hours....i dont mind having an ID card...but i do mind having to pay 50 smackers for it.

That just gets funnier the further down you read.

I reckon the biggest problem with the police is that a certain percentage of them are complete and utter arseholes, mainly as a result of having to deal with the scum of society every day of their lives. I sympathise with them as its not an easy job and you'd have to be a saint not to lose the plot every so often, but they need to get rid of them or even better - re-train them.

We've had what the police have described as a particularly nasty outbreak of egg throwing recently and the resources they've put in to it is embarrassing. I said to one of them, haven't you got better things to do like arresting drug dealers and he said egg throwing is a bigger problem than you'd think as "it can be really difficult to get the egg off houses" (and yes, that is a quote).
