Just heard that Honda's formula 1 team will be going up for sale shortly and if there is no takers then bye bye Honda!
Looks like there is some real financial strife with the Japanese!

The Japanese company hopes to sell its team, which costs £200m a year to run, but is prepared to close the team early in 2009 if no buyer is found. Sources told BBC Sport the team were "optimistic" they would continue, but no investor had yet been found. However, according to the Reuters news agency, team bosses Ross Brawn and Nick Fry fear Honda could close the Brackley-based team within weeks. It's the start of the sport as a whole feeling the pinch. Bernie Ecclestone has some serious thinking to do Honda, who recently cut road vehicle production as a response to the global economic crisis, is expected to make an announcement regarding the team's future at 0500 GMT on Friday. <article continues see link> Eeek, unlucky Jenson. Really though they may get their shit together next season too. The recession is biting hard and fast and the motor industry is getting shafter more than most (for now)

|
I was also hoping Honda got it together. I would have loved to have seen Jenson in a car that could have competed. I think he's one of the better drivers on the grid tbh |

I'd agree with that. He's never had a top drive to prove it, though he didn't help himself by messing around on contracts with williams and BAR/Honda. |

The formula 1 team money could pay 1000's of normal workers wages and I doubt anyones thought "Honda did well in that GP I think i'll nip out and buy a Civic"

Renault's European sales went crazy the last year they won the title. |
