90% of the eighties music was awful. Fucking awful. Clubbing was fucking appaling until about 88. There was always the odd decent band but you had to fucking look long and hard for it. Thats why us oldies big up the stone roses, they were suck a breath of fresh air after years of fucking dross. Not just musically but they changed club land, fashion and yeovils haircut.
Wouldn't disagree with that...the early part of the 80's there were still some decent late 70's bands turning stuff out like The Clash and The Specials.....then Joy Division/ New Order,to an extent Human League, and some good synth popsters, who produced one or two decent things. Also there was always good American disco type stuff.
I got political in the 80's, then had kids, so music took a bit of a back seat. The fact it was mostly crap, just sort of reinforced my feeling that I'd had it good in 60's and 70's so time to move on.
