Everyone assumes that AF will put his hand in the Board's pocket, pull out half a mill and hey presto shiny new management team. There's no evidence of this in fact quite the opposite, we were told at the interview stage at least on priced themselves out and another didn't get the job becaus ehe wanted his own team.
So what has changed...other than we're now in a relegation dog fight.
Don't disagree with what you've said Reg, just gave my opinion! I know Fitton wants the club to be run along business lines, but he needs to speculate a bit first. Williams and Byrne are hardly going to be seen as a dream ticket are they? |

Oh and did I read on this forum that somebody on here thought Brezovan is the best keeper in the league? From what I have seen he is absoulute dogshit for this level. The guy's decision making are hopeless and for a big powerful guy, why the hell does he always scoop his clearance kicks miles up in the air and straight to the opposition? When Glennon was kicking, his kicks had a much lower trajectory and were much more dangerous.

No, but if you look at something like Reading as an example, which I'm sure AF has, Madejski also stated he wouldn't throw money at it. When his dour Scottish manager McGee, upped and left in 94/95....Madejski appointed Jimmy Quinn and Mick Gooding, both players as joint managers...damn near made the Prem.
Incidentally Adi Williams played in that Reading side....as did Adi Viveash, when he was injured.

The coaching this season must be diabolical. I cant see any other reason for us to have gotten in such a mess.
There are loads of awful teams this season. We might just stay up because the standard is so low?
Any chance of a resignation Mo? Then weve only got to pay off Byrne, Williams and Granville.
Fittons got a lot of thinking to do.
For whats it worth, I think we need a strong hand to steady the ship. Anything else would be gambling with our League 1 status.

You're right Spence....if he is to stick with MM, then we need to get a couple of players in on loan...I'd suggest a goalkeeper as priority, and a central midfielder, watching Carlisle yesterday they had Graham Kavanagh, who'd been rotting away in Sunderland reserves.
He's the sort of thing we need....it wont get better by doing nothing though.

I have refrained from jumping on the "sack malpas" bandwagon for too long
I upped and left at 4.30 yesterday, disgusted at what I was being forced to endure
In all my 34 years of watching the Town, I have witnessed my fair share of bad teams being led by clueless managers, but I have to admit this current regime tops them all I am afraid.
The turning point for me came when I looked across at him at 3-0 down and he was just laid against the dugout with out what looked like a care in the world.
I expected him to be out in the technical area trying to spur the players on at least, but nothing. Nada. Zilch. Fuck all !
I am afraid mate your tenure has come to an end.
Get the fuck out of my club and take Byrne and Williams with you

That's what I thought. Why was nothing be rallied to the players on the pitch? We had none of our management team on the touchline. Malpas arms seemed to be super-glued to the dugout roof. |

it is entirely possible we'll get Byrne/Williams back in. Can they keep us up?
If the alternative is Byrne and Williams then we may aswell stick with MM. I ended up having an argument with the people next to me yesterday as they thought Byrne & Williams should get the job as they 'did well' last time. They are part of the current coaching set-up and therefore obviously do as shit a job as Malpas is. The whole lot just need to fuck off and if they had any self respect they would do, unfortunately they know their unlikely to get a similar job anywhere else so will just stick around and continue to fuck us up. |

i think the coaching staff are more of a problem than malpas to be honest. the tactics have generally been sensible and i can see what he's trying to achieve by employing those formations but the players aren't able to perform at a significant level, which suggests to me that the coaching is piss poor
