I was on a train last Thursday back to Swindon from Paddington.  Some bloke had topped himself near Swansea in the same way and everything was delayed for an hour or so...

When I got on the train I was talking to my mate and made some daft comment about "selfish bastard" etc....

A bloke on the other side of the aisle looked at me and said "get over yourself you selfish twat, someone has fucking well died, all you will be is a bit late"........

I rightly felt a complete and utter wanker !  Very humbling and made me think how lucky we are !!!

They died because they choose to die it wasn't an accident it was a delibrate act. Why should I feel sorry? if anything we should be happy for him as he wanted to die and therefore achived his goal.If a train worker had died or soemthing then that is different and you wouldn't have a peep out of me unless it was bob crow, but a suicide is different.

Because sometime GFM people get themselves worked up into such a depression that they can't cope anymore, and they see it as their only way out.  Why should his family deserve no sympathy for what happened, that person who delayed you was someone's little boy/little girl, okay so he had grown up a little, but somewhere someone today will be grieving for their loss, not making some half witted post on an internet forum about the situation.

I try not to judge tramps.  True story - when I was down in St Ettiene (sp) for the 98 World Cup me and the lads had a good laugh each day seeing this pissed up tramp making an arse of himself in the town centre.

Wasn't til a week or so later I heard that that same bloke used to be the head teacher at a local school.  He lost the plot when his wife and kids died in a car crash and just couldn't get over it.  So he hit the bottle big time and that was the end result, living on the streets, with nothing.

Made me think really.  That kind of thing could potentially happen to anyone.
