I read some really bad stuff about sky broadband - their customer service and the ammount of time it was taking to connect new customers, that was probably over a year ago now though.

I honestly do not believe this Sky+ "but once you get Sky+ you wonder how you ever lived without it " bs.

I don't watch enough or have enough interest in TV for it to be that much of a difference.  Replaying tv would be a nice to have but not a need really.

Ease of recording, series link, remote record  and the ability to fast forward through adverts is what does it for me!

The advert skipping alone can save 15 minutes on an hour long program.

I guess the ability to record TV has been around for 25 years in the mass consumer market, but comparing a VCR with a PVR is like comparing chalk and cheese.

I can see the charity ad's now

...just £15 per person will give every child in Africa access to Sky+ for one whole year.  £40 per month will give them complete access to Sky Sports.  Together they could freeze live sporting events to go get water from the well 8km's away.  They would have series link recording, should they need to go away from their home and take part in a civil war.

They could be HIV + and Sky+ and be happy.
