I am so dissapointed by this, even at 1 down we sounded like we would come back.

Think we had a good patch at some point in the second half with loads of corners in a row.

We need to learn how to play ugly and beat teams at their own game I think, it is a case of when you can play football all well and good but learn when you can't.

I hope that it isn't going to be when Macnamee is on form so are we and when he isn't we are not

We had most of the possetion by the sounds of it but got caught out by 2 real sucker punches and if we are to do anything this season we have to learn and learn quickly how to grind out a result and close out games.

But it is only 2 league games in so no need to be despondent, the signs are there that we COULD have a good season with the type of football we are trying to play.

I will remain pessimistic as long as Aljofree and Morrison are the central defensive pairing-I will be optimistic when Ifil and Kanyuka are fit

Here is how I saw it:

Defensively we look a bit dodgy. Casal and Morrison are learning, Aljofree was poor today.

We had enough chances to win but converted 0 of them. This was a mix of a couple of good saves from Higgs and our own final ball letting us down.

McNamee didn't see a lot of the ball, but was more in it after half time. We were pretty even first half, had a good spell of pressure in the second half but didn't capitalise. After they scored we were crap. Then they went down to 10. Then they scored again. And we were still crap.

The centre midfield pairing can play, but is lacking any bight. I hope Easton can add this.

Cox didn't have his best game up front. We need Paynter fit and Corr ready to fight for a place to assist him.

All in all it wasn't a great performance! Very dissjointed and whilst Cheltenham were flattered by the 2-0 score they probably deserved it.

But it's not all doom and gloom. Only 2 clubs have a 100% record. We are above Leeds for instance.  Lets put it behind us and get 3 points Saturday.

Oh, and there was some moaning fuck that went and on at Nalis and Malpas for not replacing him for the last 15 minutes. I think unfortunately that a number of our 'fans' are in waiting with the Malpas knives sharpened Sad

Bound to happen...on the whole Town fans don't expect too much, but losing to Cheltnum is never a good idea...I think we know they'll struggle this season and fair play to them for managing to stay at this level, but MM has had a close season to sort out a squad with the obvious aim of improving  the away form.

On this evidence it hasn't happened.

defence is a shambles. Ifil and kanyuka the way forward. We just concede soft goals and it needs changing soon.

I seem to be a lone voice, but have been saying for a while Phil Smith needs to come in.
