The OoC testing regime is a bit different to what happened to Rio. He had an appointment for a test after the game which he knew about, as did his club, and somehow he managed to wlak out of the ground without reporting for it.

The OoC regime means that an athlete can tested without advance declaration, and to enable that they have to provide a diary of their dsy to day movements each week. They then have to make sure that they keep that diary updated so that if there are changes to their plans the testing authorities know about it.

What Ohuruogu failed to do was update the diary. As a result the testers kept turning up at various locations to test her to find that she wasn't there because her plans had changed.

Pretty fucking sloppy, but hardly unique, there were dozens of athletes that had missed 2 tests at the time of her ban. She was made an example of and a whole load of other athletes suddenly got a lot more efficient with their diary keeping.

I don't think there was a single suggestion that she might have actually been using any performance enhancing substances.

He said sanity, i.e. not barking, no danger of being sectioned ... as opposed to serenity, in a state of tranquility and calm (except when in close proximity to estate agents and Michael Timlin & friend) although both are probably quite correct. No mean feat as an STFC fan.

Now breathe in ... ommmmmm .... breathe out aaand repeat.

This really has been an impressive games. Was expecting the usual 7 or 8 golds but this really has exceeded expectations. Great stuff especially with London 2012 being the next stop on the Olympic calender.

I see in the last couple of days we've finally won a few medals in events that involve being in an upright position for longer than a few seconds at the start.

Now we can stop with the, "we can only win in events where we get to sit down" stuff.

Go us!

Apparently the Aussies have only one one event where they stand up, and another where only a third of the time you stand up, so it's a non-issue really.
