Batman Begins has been selling very well at work, which suggests that people are playing catch-up.

As cruel and sad as it sounds Warner Brothers must have been secretly high fiving eachother after Heath Ledger popped the wrong dosage because, although a cool franchise, it must have made them millions of dollars more in profits.

The Dark Knight is very good - but it's not as amaaaaazing as many tried to make me believe.

It was better than Batman Begins I thought. Maybe because I saw it at the cinema though.

Yes I think it was better than Batman Begins. BB had to re-tell the story though. Heath Ledger aside, The Joker character is pretty cool and hard to beat.

Is the Riddler next? I've heard Johnny Depp is linked but that's just movie geek rumour sources I guess.

Not sure they've confirmed another film yet. Sure it's only a matter of time though.

They'll have little choice - tempting Christopher Nolan (and his brother) back will be the tricky thing though.

They have to make more - was wondering how they might bring the Penguin into a film - he's the most cartoon of them all really and doesn't really fit into the dark, serious Batman format.  We'll see I guess.

Wikipedia seems well referenced.

Quote from: Wikipedia
Future

Nolan is not committed to another sequel, explaining that he does not normally line up projects after completing a film. Gary Oldman is confident Nolan will return,[25] and Bale said he would return if Nolan did.[26] Oldman hinted in the third film Gordon would have to hunt down Batman.[27] He has also mentioned that the villain of the upcoming film may be The Riddler. [28] Nolan explained that as long as he is directing, he is not including Robin in the franchise because Bale is portraying a "young Batman", which meant "Robin's not for a few films". Nolan jokingly listed Frankie Muniz as a potential choice, if the studio forced him to cast.[29] Bale joked "I'll be chaining myself up somewhere and refusing to go to work" if Robin is introduced.[30]

In addition, Nolan considered the Penguin difficult to portray on film, explaining, "There are certain characters that are easier to mesh with the more real take on Batman we're doing. The Penguin would be tricky." [31] Sarah Michelle Gellar and Kate Beckinsale have shown interest in playing Catwoman,[32][33] while David Tennant has expressed interest in playing the Riddler.[34] Prior to the release of The Dark Knight in 2008, David Goyer ruled out using the Penguin or Catwoman as a villain in a future film, prefering to use antagonists from the comic that had not yet been portrayed on the big screen. [35] On July 23, 2008, Aaron Eckhart says he would return for a sequel of The Dark Knight if asked.[36]

I haven't seen Dark Knight yet, not sure I'll bother at the cinema.

The Penguin look from the Tim Burton film was okay I thought - obviously incorporating it to the new franchise is tricky but they'd do it.

If ever a man was born to the play the Penguin it was DeVito!

Batman Begins...

This re-set is based upon the "Batman: Year 1" graphic novel of course, which was written by the same man who gave us "Sin City".

"Batman: The Dark Knight Returns" is a cracking read too, set when Bruce Wayne is in his 50's and comes out of crime-fighting-retirement after 10 years away.

The "Watchmen" movie is out soon too I think, but I can't get my head round how that is possibly film-able.

Haven't seen "The Dark Knight" yet though so don't spoil the ending for me.

Wasn't the original Penguin quite normal? That's how I remember on tv anyway.
