Hysteria always seemed to be the guys downfall... He was clearly never the mastermind behind what was essentially a professional execution. Abit like that guy that the Sky reporter reported to the police for being going above and beyond to help people during the McCann case (it must be him!). He was stalking another lady at the time, so he could not have been stalking Jill Dando ... not safe to be allowed out on his own. As a line of defence goes, it's up there with that fella who claimed he hadn't murdered the young model, "just" found her dead body and raped it. |

Well, hopefully, if he's publicly confessed to stalking someone in a separate offence from the one for which he was (apparently wrongfully) convicted, the authorities will investigate that and he can be prosecuted and, if rightly convicted, jailed for it.

No, separate offences. That was my point. He's entitled to claim compensation for the time he wrongly spent in jail, but he can't offset it against another jail sentence (if any). Think about it, just because you've been wrongly convicted of one offence, doesn't mean you then get a "freebie" to get off with another.
