Suggested this nearly a year to the day ago.

Given the transfer situation in the summer with the windows coming into effect we may well be worth once again looking at foreign talent inparticular the latest batch of EU ascension states.

Average wage may be on the increase in the likes of Slovakia and Poland but once you get past the cream of high earners footballers are still carving out a modest living even in the top tiers of football.  I think as Reg pointed out last time Eastern Europeans have not always adapted to the English game however in comparison with what may be left available in the summer it may just be worth a prospective punt on a couple of players.

Take Gregor Rasiak at Derby who has been suberb this season.  The big Pole was poached on a free and has shown that there may be some talent to be exploited.

Lack of work permit requirements opens up the doors to the likes of Rasiak who had only limited international experience and previously would have been knocked back by the Home Office.  Realisticly we’re not going to be in the market for too many internationals, bar perhaps Latvia but if you don’t ask.

The temptation of English professional football, in some cases a move to a better quality of life and the opportunity to get themselves a foot in the door and impress may be a good bargaining tool.

Sure we can find King a couple of golf courses in Slovenia to keep him happy on his holidays

Good thinking. I like the thought of getting some cheap european slave labour in the side. They'd be grateful for every penny.

It could be a great idea. I remember a few years ago when Bolton got loads of Scandinavian players in - a majorly untapped resource at the time. Worked wonders for them
