i guess any money spent now is to a large extent dead money if/when we decide to redevelop or move.

It's a fair point...can't see anything happening on that front for many a day.

  Economic recession.

True, the investment may be a bit hard to come by I suppose. Look at Rovers.

Look at the New Swindon Company...tasked with a town centre regeneration, so far seems to have produced some notable holes in the ground....and a hideous shed at Hawksworth.

Didn't the pitch look good last night, looks like new goal posts and netting as well as it is striped red now

The netting has been striped red for over 4 years now - they are the nets and stansions that I bought in exchange for a VIP day on my 40th - they are being replaced this year with plain white ones...

The pitch stood up to the first game better than last year and if you think it looked good against Southampton Portsmouth wait til Cardiff - we're treating the grass for disease at the moment that makes the leaves yellow (although I have to admit from a distance it doesn't really notice) and then feeding with more fertilizer.  It should be the best it's looked in years and to be honest we actually have a budget this year to keep feeding and treating it which means it should stay healthier through the winter -thank you F&Co...

I love the horticultural updates - nice forks lads.
Do you think we'll get a mole attack? Little bastards with their cute twitchy noses and spade-like front paws; denizens of the deep and scourge of all lawn masters.

Talking of tidy ups, what did you think of the new look program then.

I thought it was aright myself. Plus it has the added advantage of the non-standard size screwing up programme collectors. They are bound to have ring binder, or wallets or something. mwhahahaha.

I also look after the cricket pitch at the back of my house in Compton Bassett and had a spate of Moles about a month ago - unfortunately for them I worked out there pattern and duly dispatched all of them with my Beretta in the space of about 3 days...

It's quite difficult for moles to get in the CG without a ticket these days but the Beretta's on stand by if needed...

Handy tip...  Moles are easy to locate when they are working - the darkest mound is generally the freshest and the one where they are pushing soil - be patient and watch it for about 10 minutes and when the soil starts to move shoot the mound on the bottom edge of the pile  Bye

Very positive, investments are being spent wisely, although we are looking for sponsors to supply wet weather clothing and other items to see us through the season.

The grass is definately greener on the F&Co side of the fence  Cheesy

Hell yeah! Been there 6 years this year - I'm almost classed as a legal immigrant now!  Mind you the house and dogs are in a bit of a mess!
