From the Football Rumours site.
Swindon Town are set to sign Strikers Adam La Fondre from Rotherham United on a two year deal for £500,000 to replace Billy Paynter who has signed for Leeds United as well as Lee Trundle on a one year deal should he not agree a contract with Swansea City. It is expected that Swindon will partner La Fondre with Charlie Austin up front next season as Town look to replace Paynter's 29 goal haul from this season.
Swindon also made an enquiry about bringing Simon Cox back on a 6 month loan however the request was turned down after newly promoted West Bromwich Albion and Cox both said they would prefer the player to go on loan to a Championship club if he went out on loan with Preston North End now the favourites to take Cox on loan.

Yeah, broke down over money I suppose it's feasable no we lost paynter and Trundle is available on a free? I would think Wilson still has some level of interest?

That deal was called off after Harris received a testy call from Jackett.

I want someone to say we've been linked with one of those African players that were discovered by someone last time. Someone Weah or something and Eduardo something or other, they sounded ace and their Youtube vids looked the bollocks.

Le fondre is interesting, but I wonder where the £500,000 figure came from?
It's understandable that they would want to sell him for more then the £100,000 they are rumoured to have bought him for, but I really doubt our board would be willing to spend that kind of figure on 1 player at the moment would we?
Lee Trundle? Thought last year we couldn't afford his wages? And does that mean we'll finally be able to start doing this little number in the Town End if old 'magic daps' scores...

Sorry if this is going over old ground http://footytweets.com/swindon_town/news/301437"Skysports.com understands out-of-contract Southampton full-back Jon Otsemobor is attracting interest from a host of League One clubs. Sheffield Wednesday, Swindon, Charlton and Plymouth are among the clubs understood to be chasing the 27-year-old. Otsemobor moved to St Mary's on a free transfer from League One rivals Norwich City in January. But he has been deemed surplus to requirements as Saints boss Alan Pardew seeks to overhaul his squad ahead of next term's planned promotion push. But the former Liverpool player could be lining up against Pardew's side next term, with his future set to be finalised this week."

I could imagine there would be more leverage this year for negotiation. We're doing better as a club, and dear old Mr Trundle has not been too prolific in the team. Wouldn't mind him coming as a loanee to us, providing he wants to play, which I am sure he would in that scenario, as else he'd continue to warm the benches at shitty... He's old/fat, he's round.... he's worth a million pounds... Lee Trundeeeeeel, Lee Trundeeeeeel!!

Trundle didn't want to sign for us previously so we shouldn't bother now he is desperate to go to Swansea though to warm their bench as for Le Fondre we will not be forking out £500,000 on any player anytime soon we don't have that sort of money to throw around, more than likely £2-£300,000 for a player with lot's of add on's to make up the fee like we did with Charlie's deal.
