Wilson says that we could get the guys we missed out on today next week in the loan window

Makes sense when you think about it. If we sign them on Feb 8th for 3 months then they'll be here until May 8th which is the last game.

Not sure if we can get the Scots though.  A loan for Caddis would be an 'international' transfer, don't think that's possible as an emergency loan

Shame we couldn't get the guy in from Pompey but at least we extended Ward's loan for the season. We look a bit bare now but you have to remember on Saturday we had Sheehan, O'Brien (i don't know when he'll be back or even what is actually wrong with him), Lucas and Pericard all injured.
O'Brien is in the reserves tonight so he is nearing fitness, Wilson says Pericard will be available on Saturday and highly hopeful that Lucas will as well.  Sheehan is back in light training.

O'brien played the 45 before it was abandoned. Macklin carried off though, bench is getting thinner!

Must be a nightmare trying to do business with them at the moment though - who do you deal with? Grant? Storrie? The Israeli fraudster "financial consultant" who's apparently actually running everything? Seems like no-one knows who's in charge (including the people who nominally are) so not surprising if it can take a bit longer to do deals with them than you'd usually expect. We may yet get him in on the proverbial "loan with a view to permanent" next week

Or just a free transfer when they go insolvent.

Pretty certain that is correct. The article below (from when the emergency loan rule was established) says that the player has to be employed by a Premier League or Football League club. So we won't be getting Caddis.

Aren't all loan deals outside the transfer windows technically "emergency" loans though? Which would mean that the same thing would have applied to Ferry's loan deal and there didn't seem to be a problem with that?

Ferry was signed during the transfer window in the summer, so he wasn't an emergency loan.

A very good point.

Except Ferry was signed during the transfer window in the summer, so he wasn't an emergency loan.
