Do we actually need any first team players? Anyone we bought in would be warming the bench for the time being at the moment anyway. Its not a big concern of mine

Do we actually need any first team players?

It can't be good for the majority of the 1st team knowing they are going to be playing every week no matter how they perform as there isn't anyone challenging for their place. Other than LB and LM which are still up for debate, there is only Morrison pushing the two CB's and maybe Pericard pushing the strikers.

We need decent cover in case of injuries and suspension and to keep pushing the 1st team players for their places.

I think we do,a decent winger like Caddis would have a been a good addition, someone who can whip the balls in would have been a welcomed addition and give us that little bit more quality out on the flanks.

Bobbing along mid-table motivation may be an issue. But we're not, and the players should be motivated enough to go out to win games to get us promoted.

I understand we need back up to cover for injuries and suspensions, but i'm not going to get my knickers in a twist if we don't sign anyone yet. Chances are they'd only be on loan, and that window doesn't shut untill march.

Anyroad, we've made the best signing in this division yesterday, keeping Ferry untill seasons end

Wilson could struggle to get top flight loanees in because he cannot guarentee them first team football which I assume is what their employers want.

I think we need to focus on permanent signings.

The transfer window for permanent signings closes at 5pm on Monday until June, the emergency loan is available from the following monday, but that means you can only get players for a maximum of 3 months though.

We need a few permanent additions to add strength in depth if we get 1 or 2 injuries to key players that could cause us big problems and de-rail the promotion prospects

Has anyone else seen that Owain Tudor-Jones has gone to Yeovil on loan for a month?

Funny how he was apparently too good for us.......

Interesting Ken Ryder interview in the match day magazine. Seems he had a look at Richard Brodie (York) on boxing day - but was disappointed.

Also that his last phone call was from Ole Gunnar Solskaer (now man U reserve team manager).  I know Owen isn't playing much but do we really need a 4th striker for cover?

Tommy Doherty according to my HP. Slave Traders/QPR/Wycombe..last club listed on Wiki as Ferencvaros(!) where he played one game apparenly.

Useful signing to add depth I would say. Good left foot, LB or LF. And as I think has been suggested, depth type signings are what we're really looking for right now as opposed to some one who will come straight in 'cos who are you going to drop?

Is that a joke?! Docherty is a defensive centre mid and probably past it. Would mean waving goodbye to Easton I'd have thought.

Easton isnt getting a chance anyway.

I believe Danny would chose Timlin over him anytime.

But nobody is, because the side is so settled. The newbies need to be in the Pericard mould...ready to step in and maintain the standard...

Caddis just got an assist for Celtic, that deal is pretty much dead surely.

Still, nice to see Wilson setting the bar high with these targets.
