We have a fella on trial from Cypriot club Olympiakos in case this hasn't been mentioned. 20 year old fella according to DW.

The amount of players we've had on trial, you'd think BEST Holdings were still running things.

Where are the proper transfer rumours such as Steve Lomas?

And evidentally someone has just found the first player who is 20 on that wikipedia page, if you scroll down a bit he's only just been transferred into the team.

I think the bloke from Cyprus is not a striker but a left back

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christos_Efthymiou

Cyprus U21 international, I am sure Fitton said we were getting a left back in on trial this week from a foreign team.

Im sure there is money available but Billy Sharp would surely eat it all up. Dont we need 2 more strikers. If they are also talking of another LB and Midfielder then i think maybe the pot is jusy slightly to small for BS too

Brown signed for League One rivals Swindon Town on July 28th 2009 for a reported fee of 1.2 million

Club Captain Gordon Greer told BBC points west that 'Brown is a natural replacement for Ben Joyce.'

Does anyone think that we need 3 strikers? We only have paynter, Peacock is out for ages plus i don't think he is good enough anymore anyway.

When we got promoted in 92/93 we had 3 strikers, which included Steve White who was edging towards being a bench player.  When we got promoted in 06/07 we had Peacock and Roberts for a large part of the season.  In 03/04 we had Parkin and Mooney and ..., in 95/96 we had 3 strikers, one of which was a punt with Steve Finney, which paid off for the one season as it happened.

Provided the one striker we are looking at is good enough to work well with Paynter, then a support striker or two is ample in a normal season.  What we really need is to shore up defence - seems to be happening, and get a few goals from elsewhere in the team (set pieces).  you only worry about the forwards when those two aren't providing, like last season where we had to rely on Cox for a large part.

surely a minimum of 4 strikers on our books are required? ~ I dont rate paynter as being that great , so I would be disappointed if we were not looking to sign 2 quality forwards to lead the front line. the guy who overheard fitton saying only one more is needed is slightly worrying.
