we should have a look at peter gilbert former plymouth and sheffield wednesday left back still young and hes just been released from sheff wed. also what about david connolly hes also left sunderland and is an experienced goal scorer.

Connolly has been on trial at QPR for 3 weeks, he wont play lower than the championship.

And Gilbert is a sick note as Kanyuka and Corr.

Is that, that wurzel bloke ? if so he is on pretty much every Town forum I have seen except this one he seems to be indicating its Sharp signing, I have to say reading some of his posts he seems to just be sticking a finger in the air and hoping but fingers crossed im wrong

I've looked through some of his postings and they're pie in the sky.Firstly,he thinks that a midfield
of Douglas,Macca and O'Brien are going to score 30 goals between them next season.

Secondly, when asked about future signings eg 2nd Striker and a Left Back,he hasn't stated any
facts, just pure conjecture on his part as to who he thinks we should be interested in.

Im sure we will get someone in before the start of the season.Wilsons signings so far have been good, so it looks like he aint going for the run of the mill players.
Also the players that are unatached to clubs will be wanting to sign for someone before the season starts, this would would work in our favour with wage demands.
Im sure he knows what he's doing and that by next week we will have 1 or 2 new strikers.Theres no way he will start the season with just Billy as the only fit striker.

Now in saying all that i think we will be getting someone in on a loan to play up front.

I agree Kimosabe, a loan player probably will be our best option available to DW, unless we plump for some aged much travelled striker on a freebie.

JJ sometime ago i suggested Obika, given your proximity are Yeovil still interested or is Harry
only willing to let him go to Championship clubs?

Apparently yes and yes to both those statements from what I have heard from Yeovil supporting mates.

The wurzels have made a loan offer but Harry wants a Championship team for Obika but if none come in then he could well return to Huish Park on at least a 6 month loan.

Could be worth a shout, I dont know if we would be a bigger pull than Yeovil because he publicly stated he enjoyed his time there.

Quote
16 July 2009 : Glovers Still Chasing Obika Deal
Yeovil Town have not given up in their attempts to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Jonathan Obika, according to this morning's BBC Somerset sports bulletin. Obika made 10 appearances for the club at the tail end of last season, scoring four goals and the management team have made it clear in the past that they would love the chance to bring him back.

The BBC report that the club are still looking to "engineer a return" for the academy player, which would of course reunite him with his strike partner Ryan Mason if it proved successful.

Thanks JJ the trouble is that at the moment we really haven't much of an idea if we're close to
any deals be they permanant or loans. We can throw names about as a bit of fun or speculation,
bottom line is we need the right ones for us asap.

Just heard from a Crystal Palace supporting mate that they are looking at bringing Obika in on a season long loan, if they do then that will scupper any possible deal we may be thinking about as its a higher level and also much closer to his home Sad

Warnock seems to be looking at  developing a young side at Palace, having already taken
Freddie Sears on a season loan. They gave Rovers a bit of a thumping last night at the Mem.

A new non English trialist coming to Swindon on Monday according to Mr Fitton in his half time interview.

No more details to position or anything at all yet. Apparently an Eastern European that we have been tracking, not a free agent but a deal struck up with his club already...a long term target.

Also.....

Billy Sharp has been spoken about but wont be joining on loan...apparently.....but half a dozen other loan targets are ahead of him in the list that Danny has with no loan signing happening before next week at the earliest.

Could be anyone

It could be, as long as they are Easter European with apparently an unpronouncable name according to Mr Fitton. He was keeping his cards close to his chest.
