Regardless to whether he's right or not, does this count as glos_robin's first negative post of the 2009/10 season?

I'm happy with things as they stand we're infinitely better off than this time last season I just don't think Kennedy is the answer to our left back problem. It's a physical division and I don't think he is ready to play week in week out.

Fair enough glos.

Kennedy is young, but defenders have got to start becoming a regular at some point.

I agree with that and he'll get his chance with injuries loss of form etc, but from what I can see we are going to be built from the back this season with a solid spine and 4 solid defenders is going to a crucial part of the team (assuming he doesn't decide 3 at the back is the way forward).

I notice a former target, Simon Walton, has been left out of Plymouth's trip to Scotland because he wants to be a centre-back again.

Nope, if Wilson indeed wanted him, it would have been for our midfield.

I think so JJ.  He played in the 7-2 defeat by Newcastle.

I thought that unless they have the name mixed up, very odd:

And on Saturday Chris Lumdson was watched by Norwich, Swindon and Notts County who are all tracking the 29-year-old midfielder. He was one of Quakers’ bright spots at The Northern Echo Darlington Arena alongside fellow midfielder Gary Smith

Just listened to DW interview on the BBC website and i'm not pleased he is now talking about having until the end of aug to bring players in. Sure its true technically, but we can't go into the season with the current squad surely. Hopefully he is just refusing to panic and there are things clicking into place behind the scenes. I usually like watching the pre-season games and looking at the new signings, but with nothing up front i'm not sure. More importantly Gillingham away. Come on striker this week please (and not samba!)

Better to wait and get the right one than rush and get the wrong one.  There was panic setting in about the midfield in the days before Douglas signed.  As I've said many a time on here, we must have patience.

Good strikers who can score goals are not just readily available and willing to sign.

In 2007 we got Cox and Paynter on the last day of August. So yeah if it's worth waiting then great.
