If someone told me this time last year that we would be linked to Billy Sharp (if true of course) I'd have offered to eat my hat in the same way that Leeds fan did re Douglas!

You'd be insane to spend £1m on Billy Sharp in my opinion, not much of a return available on that, unless he finally scored goals in the Championship.

For my sins I accompanied my girlfriends dad to this game (Ajax innit).
Couldn't believe seeing Brezovan there. At first I was applying the trade of thought of 'why have we released someone who can get trials at Championship clubs?'
He started with an Ajax onslaught in which he didn't look comfortable at all. Then made a couple of good saves... then I was reminded why we let him go as an impromptu effort which he could have stopped found itself in the back of the net. Minutes later he conceded another.
Ajax were brilliant at times.

Pleased he is still looking for a left back though even if we have missed out on Taylor, which would mean some tough decisions to be made when everybody is fit, assuming we are not going for the new 7 at the back formation!!!
So at least three more players to come in with the two SC's, and just over three weeks till the start of the season.
Shame that Sharp rumour wasn't true.

Looks like it could depend on whether Sheffield United get in more strikers themselves?

On the subject of left backs, did that Sheehan fella from Leeds ever go anywhere/sign new contract/become unavailable?

I'd be prepared to give Lescinel or Kennedy a crack at left back. Personally, I'd like to see Wilson got for anorther central midfielder to play alongside Douglas. Timlin has a hell of a lot to learn and Easton needs to return to the form of 2 seasons ago as last season he was shite, JPM has proved to be consistently bollox in the middle and Peacock can't hack a run of matches. I must admit I'd lose no sleep if all 4 of them went.

Kennedy didn't show anything last season to show he's ready to be a 1st choice left-back. Too light weight at the moment as well.
