Huddersfield had an average attendance of 13,000 last year, warped because of their £100 season ticket offer. But only averaged roughly 7,900 in the previous years.

They need to get into the Championship sharpish....

I think I prefer our business model.

2007-2008  The season still had a chance of success in mid february.

2008-2009 Season had no chance of ending in success from early december onwards.

Awful season.

Our home form is what makes it seem worse for me. Seeing us getting beat the way did at home at times was gutting.

I think getting beat at home by Hartlepool thanks to that last minute dodgy penalty summed up the season

I think there was pleny in the final 2 months of the season to suggest a corner had been turned on the pitch.  Wilson showed he had a decent enough eye for the players and the fact remains that players are interested in coming here, just that we seem to be competing for the top end player in this league right now.  The last time I remember us prepared to spend this way in a league this low was in 1995 with Allison.  This time around the spending is not just to get us up but to see future money back in to keep the club on a sound footing.

Dont get me wrong. We are heading in the right direction now.

But weve still got to find these 3 or 4 first team players from somewhere.

I think my point is more aimed at those who seem to suggest if Theo turns us down then it's a sign we lack ambition, I think it's more a sign that we may be a little over ambitious and that to me is a good sign over all.  It means the Board are willing to back decisions they see as having future returns and means Wilson has a green light to go after push the boat out signings if they are available.  I doubt it means we aren't also keeping an eye out in the more bargain bucket for a gem or two, but I like the fact we are aiming a bit higher.  We just have to hope we get one who Huddersfield aren't aware of.

I don't think Wilson would feel the need to bulk out the squad just to get numbers.

At the moment we are relying on Wilson to get more out of a weaker (or at least smaller) squad than last year.

Its good we are looking to spend significant money on reinforcements, but it would be interesting to know why we are missing out on players - assuming we do. Have we got a strict wage structure that's on the low side, is it a case of the players seeing more chance of success elsewhere or something else.

I'm not saying a low/realistic wage structure is wrong BTW.

Of course its still early days yet, Cox hasn't gone, we haven't brought much in. Lots of wheeling and dealing to do yet.

I wished Wilson never said anything about it, it makes me more angry.

Is it because we won't (alllegedly) pay agents fees?

A player would not turn down a move because of that.

Maybe not. I don't know much about agents really, or the relationship they build up with players. If it came down to 2 clubs willling to pay the same wages, but one will pay the agents fees and the other expects the player to stump them up and it could make a difference, couldn't it?
