Son of Royce?
Yep, born in Feb 2007 - so assuming Royce moved his Mrs over with him then Rylan was possibly born in Swindon.

6 figure fee sounds reasonable but how much of it is up front/guaranteed (over instalment's) is another thing.
6 figures encompasses a huge difference between 100k and 999k! When I look at Junior Tchamadeu who aged 20 signed for Stoke City for £1.5m up front + add ons it makes me think thats a pittance with the first bid likely to be accepted. Ameen is a better player than Tchamadeu was aged 20.

Agree that if he was a full contracted pro with us like Tchamadeu was with Col U then he’s worth a lot more but in regards to our position and how much variance a tribunal fee would net us, 6 figures guaranteed is reasonable to be fair, whilst also being disappointing in the context of the player he can turn into.

Anyone remember how much Norwich paid for Louis Thompson even though he was 2 or 3 years older than Ameen.

I could be wrong but I somewhat remember a quote saying it could go up to a million with add ons? Don’t quote me on that though.

That sounds a decent amount if true.

Up to £1.3m quoted here, https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38309414 albeit considering how little he played for Norwich I suspect we didn't end up seeing much of it and IIRC they released him so assume any sell on would have died a dearth as well.

Ameen is 17 and played 10 or so games total as youth teamer. Tchamadeu had played 82 for Col U as a full pro according to Wiki. The 2 are not even close to being comparable and to claim Ameen is better is 100% just being a town fan. Same way most of us argued Luongo was better than Dele Ali. Ameen is not worth anythning like over a million up front.

Maybe.
Tschamadu played 11 1st team games at the same age as Ameen though.

Pete O’Rourke tweeted: Norwich have tabled a £100,000 bid for Fleetwood Town’s England youth international Reece Wilkes as they look to beat a host of clubs to his signature.
The lad is 16 with one senior appearance (pizza cup), so would like to think a much larger figure would be what’s being discussed re Ameen. As mentioned yesterday we got 500k up front for H Hunt and most STFC fans would agree Ameen seems an even bigger prospect, so would hope the up front figure would be larger than that.

The main issue with Ameen if he goes is that he hasn't been with us very long (2-3 years) and hasn't come up throughout our ages group levels like others have. The amount of compensation you get is related to how long the player has been with you as a club as naturally you have developed that player for many years. Ameen is 18 (just) and was previously with QPR and then joined us a few years back. Hence why we wont get as much for him compared to a player like H.Hunt or Twine for example in a similar situation. It would appear Norwich have made a bid as reported, but Swansea have watched him extensively as well as Bristol City so expect it to be a tug of war for him. Pretty sure he will go unfortunately. The Swansea offer (when it comes, not if), is for him to be loaned back to us for a year.

Rumoured January window target Josh Benson released by Barnsley FC. Connor McCarthy also released.

I would be all over Connor McCarthy, or at least the one at the start of his loan spell. He looks comfortably above league 2 standard.
