Freckleton hasn't played for quite some time. He's not going to be (match fit) ready to try before deadline day.

He was the weakest link when he played in the leaky back 4. Maybe he'll be brilliant but there is nothing to base that on.

As Jay says - keeper #1 problem area.

We are DESPERATE for a proper keeper
Still after 2 experienced keepers (only going to sign 1 of them though) but both are apparently in or around the 1st team at their respective clubs, so will have to see what moves as obviously we will need to move players on before we can sign anyone unless Clem loosens the budget strings a little more.

A bit of a scapegoat for some poor performances but some howlers...... including the Port Vale one and teeing up the striker for a volley at Salford!

I still think he'll have a good career btw. Just no idea if he can shake it off swiftly.

And the inexplicable 94th minute handball in the box v Doncaster...

Moonraker saying we’ve beat L2 + Scottish sides to a striker on loan, expected to be announced. Deal for Raymond is off after his trial here.

Interesting one, considering we have six 'first team' strikers already with Nichols, Ameen, Drinan, Glatzel, Smith & Tshimanga.

Can see how someone with pace would help, but can't help thinking this all ends with Glatzel out on loan.

Moonraker article frames it as Smith cover though so maybe a big fucker.

Maybe Tshimanga deal means he can be returned - cant see signing a striker and not playing him thus leave him on the bench, clubs don't loan players for them not to play

Tom Hopper from Colchester mentioned on twitter.

Nothing like signing a striker on loan from relegation rivals
