Really? At the same stage? I think that's arguable to be honest. Or do you mean our squad at the start of the season?
Squad at the start of the season - there is no way we will be signing 5 or 6 players in the next week

We are definitely behind on last seasons squad in terms of numbers and probably overall quality, although that is yet to be truly seen.
I’m going to have to strongly disagree with that statement. It wasn’t till around this time last year we made our first permanent signing. I remember us all panicking that was side was so inexperienced and young, and lacking in numbers. Squad for squad it’s stronger this season, yes it’s lacking in creativity but it’s a more solid side.

I am glad for you that you are so positive. Strongly disagree as much as you like, my opinion is that we are down on last seasons worst finish ever squad in terms of size and quality. We probably have a slighty stronger overall first 11 across the group, but first 11's don't get you promoted. Kemp scewed the makeup of our squad last season because he was so far ahead of everyone else, but you look at what else we had, bar Dokes and Young being better than we expected, we had very little else. This year we have a stronger overall make up across the 11, but again that 11 will not get us promoted over a season. Need more numbers, with a bit of quality.

I wouldn't exactly say im positive, i think it’s a mid table side but comparing it to where we were at this point last season, it’s better. What, the start of last season, we had one player who had over 100 EFL games?

I didn't say we were less experienced, i said we have less numbers and less overall quality.

Our bench for the first league game of last season was Young, Genesini, Cain, Uwakwe, Kinsella, Minturn and Brann. Benn Ward started at LWB.
I think we probably had more players in the squad this time last year, but there were a few already injured in Devine and Clayton, and were about to sell Wakeling.
Kinda two bald men arguing over a comb though, it's two squads that both lacked depth.

But even with Young and Kemp we went on a long run where we couldn’t get a win. Those first 10 games has skewed everything.

Not sure we have less quality. We definitely have less flair & less creativity.
We actually have strikers who will get goals if given the service & the defence looks to be more solid.
I’d currently be expecting a lot of 0-0s & 1-0s (both ways)
I think the ‘harder to beat’ factor gives this years squad in the edge in which I’d expected to finish higher in L2 but certainly not high enough to be troubling the top7…

Being a bit ‘gruesome’ is good enough to win a fair few games in L2.
How many games did I watch last season thinking we look miles better than the other lot, to only go on and lose.

This is pretty much where i stand - a few injuries and we start to replicate last season

TBH most of our defeats I thought similar. We needed some grit in defence, but still need to get creativity in.

Tbh, I think we’ll win more games by being obdurate and uneasy on the eye then we would, and did, by attempting fancy Dan, Fanny football.

I’m much happier with the squad going into this season than last, fed up off watching us have all the ball and lose because we are conceding shit goals. I would much rather have one of the best defences in League Two than one of the best attacks. I think we will get top 7 this season.
