The constant references to "Clem overseeing transfers". "Clem backing the club massively", "Gav and Clem and the coaching team" really do highlight what an egotistical psychopath he must be. There's nothing to be proud of in this abject failure, which makes it all the more bizarre that he insists on the constant self-namedropping.

Narcissistic sociopath is more accurate. The gaslighting is strong in this one

Smokescreen. Clem, this, Clem, that. Positive propaganda. A reverse version of mudslinging. If you don’t have wet mud to stick, throw dry mud, won’t necessarily stick, but will blur the vision and deflect what is really going on. The club are on the back foot sadly and the honeymoon is well past and forgotten. Wait till individuals outside the club are singled out (hopefully not), isolated and called into question by ‘representatives’ of the club, not ‘officially employed’ but you understand what can and has happened in the past within the football world if things really deteriorate.
Sad thing is we ALL wanted this to be a successful ownership.

However, the bitter taste of reality remains long after the sweet taste of new ownership is forgotten. Credit Benjamin Franklin.

Remember that time Banbury got slated for telling us the model was changing....

#kindergartenFlop

They (Standing) have a main purpose of developing young technical players and selling on for profit.
Nothing wrong with that model if it is in parallel on getting out of this awful division. Sadly this is secondary.
Surely our fanbase can see this. Season by season we are becoming weaker.

100% this.

You can develop youngsters and sell them on if you blood them in with experienced players, if you have a core of 7 or 8 experienced players and 3 or 4 youngsters they will progress faster under the guidance of the better players while also remaining competitive in this league rather than 2 or at most 3 experienced players which we seem to have currently.

You cant rely on kids in a relegation battle but if blooded well and gradually then you can win promotion with a handful of kids in the team for sure. We are putting all our eggs into the same basket and then dropping the basket.

You don't win nowt with just kids and inexperienced players.

But to showcase young talent at its best it has to be as part of a successful team.

Les Caffery has tweeted about him back in 2022.

Not exclusively but definitely integrating young talent into an experienced team would seem to be the more preferred and logical way to go.

If Town had a top tier academy, then there could be some minor arguments against - as the academy would be renowned so would hold a certain gravitas. But STFC don't so the way they are doing things currently is not only weakening the First XI but also leading towards destroying any potential talent from being pretty successful.

Crewe tend to be the outlier to this. Generally are not a successful club yet nearly every year they have a % of academy players involved in their squad. I guess they have made their bed with getting promoted, having their best youth players sold on for good money and then going down, rinse and repeat.

I said it in their matchday thread but the difference between their youth CB, O'Riordan and ours, Minturn was like chalk and blancmange.

And the young CBs we’ve had on loan have done well - Ballard, Wolfenden, JOB.

Aye, I said similar as such just now. The difference being Crewe actually have something that resembles a decent level academy so the club as a hole doesn't need to be 'successful' on the pitch. Their academy is miles ahead; both relatively and vastly, compared to Town  Sad

Talking of which. The DNA and I shall be in attendance. £5 each, to see Swindon Towns stars of the future play another bunch of lower league stars of the future from Manchester United.

KO. 7PM! Just in case you feel like going.
