Hutton only signed 6 weeks earlier, am I missing something?
Shit yeah! Why do I feel like he's been here longer? The whole Hutton's on his way thing seems to have gone on so long I'd got myself thinking he was longer into his contract last season. I'm right we were trying to sign someone else at Spurs and grabbed him as a consolation prize though right, or did I just invent that as well?

To pick up on something I keep seeing.
One in one out is literally impossible if Flynn wants 23/24 players as he's said as recently as last night...
But it has been so far. I'd imagine we'd fill a couple more loan spots which may not fit that because % wage paid by ownng club. I guess we'll see after that. What numbers are we up to?

Its been impossible all summer tbh. If we were as skint as we are supposed to be there’s a lot more players on a lot more money than the ones we released on. I’m sure there’s a few if we are that skint we would have taking small bids on.
Are we leaving it too late, absolutely but I refuse to believe the budget is as bad as many are having us believe
We signed six players in August and September last summer, 11 the year before, 6 the year before that, only 3 in 18/19 because Phil Brown bought early and I think we can all agree in general terribly, back to 8 in 17/18, 7 the year before, 10 in 15/16. See the pattern? This happens every year. Transfer business in lower leagues happens late. It's not because the club are shit, we're reliant on clubs higher up the league's settling their squads and the letting players go. Yes lots of deals have been done already, but as I've said elsewhere there ain't many I'd have looked at twice.

Completely agree. Flynn seems to feel the squad has underformed and better than we feel. We didn’t need a total rebuild so he’s biding his time and picking out players who fit his model. Saying that, the Dan Kemp loan worries me. Unless we have an option to purchase. He is going to be an upgrade on williams.

19 if you include Devine i think. Has been so far yeah, only Lavinier and Williams have been met with various levels of disappointment though (unless I have forgotten someone) 2 CB's, LWB and someone to wear the number 9 I guess will be brought in. Wonder if Flynn might try and shift a couple more he doesn't fancy for a couple he does on top of that (Wakeling and Shade seem the early candidates on questionable ground)

The club/manager have obviously decided this deal makes sense in isolation, i don't expect further incomings to be reliant on outgoings unless we have serious problems.
As I've said previously 2 more loans will come in..... Perms will need an outgoing unless its a young 'punt' on a good prospect....

The young punt i suppose is a grey area. The lad from Bradford is young pardon the pun but does have nearly 100 appearances and the same for the lad who was at Crewe
I see players like Genesemi as a young punt

Yep… even the FGR fella some would have down as a young punt, I certainly wouldn’t.

Bit surprised that Genesini isn't done yet actually, considering he seems to have been with us for all of pre season in a position we need and seemingly a loan (there was talk of Bournemouth releasing him but that doesn't seem to be the case). Just seems less complex than other deals.

Rumours of someone from Burnley No its not Twine Think they're hinting it's CJ Egan Riley - Ex Man City CB. Spent latter half of last season on loan at Hibs. On paper seems a bit beyond our reach.

FGR forum also says we are looking at their impressive trialist Darnell Johnson who’s a big CB who came through Leicester’s academy. Uwakwe was also a trialist at FGR. Also interesting to hear Jake Young lived in Swindon for 2 years while playing for FG. A lot of links between the 2 sides currently.

Has Ryan Edwards popped up anywhere yet? Seems to have gone quiet on him.
