He was definitely full of hot air, you could tell every time he gave an interview. Problem was it didn't wash with most and fans could see through it. Definitely after a few. The first one he might have come off alright but the more he spoke the more you just realised he was a spiv totally out of his depth and bullshitting his way through.

There is definitely room for the data driven, young development player recruitment model.
There is a good reason a lot of clubs do this - also a number of reasons why the top clubs don’t solely rely on this method.

Did we need to do something different this season, absolutely. Did that need to be a burn it down to the ground and full re-build. As of this exact moment in time, I don’t think so.

But we haven't burnt it to the and started again, the spreadsheet model is still in place just on the back burner, we are returning to more traditional model with Flynn calling the shots but that doesn't mean he won't get data from that data driven model.  The only difference is that SDM no longer has the spreadsheet password, that has reverted back to Chris Keily, who (from what I understand) was the driver of that method.  SDM was Kiely's man.  Effectively they have ramped it back so that rather than being 80% of the recruitment being done via spreadsheet, we will now probably run at 20%, and hopefully ramp it up over the years.  That is how to do it successfully as has been shown elsewhere.

Whether we have the level of investment to be able to implement it properly is a different topic.

We have been short of real rumours so far, not we are a little sad when any random player that's previously worked with flynn, doesnt join us.

I'm not worried about the ones that there has been no evidence we were after, even if they may have worked for us.

To bring it back to rumours, a name mentioned a couple of pages back has been said to me by a couple of people today. Wait and see, but sounds like an Iandolo replacement.
