It’s possible that Spurs could release the centre back, and we could get him on a free this week. If not, we’ve made some decent signings, just two short at least of where we needed to be.
I did wonder if us getting rid of the wages of Gladwin and McDonald, two higher earners, was necessary to bring in Morris and Brand. Perhaps it’s not surprising that we haven’t got the money to build a resilient squad this season.

Assuming there's nobody else to come, a slightly disappointing day in a fairly middling window. We look very light at the back - both in numbers and physically - and have lost a lot of experience throughout the squad. Austin already looks like an absolute godsend, but it's hard to think we won't ship goals to any physical side as well.
Still, the most important signing of the window is Morris. We'll have to see what he does with this squad, which doesn't feel like an obvious promotion squad but a goalscorer makes so much difference at this level, so it's still possible.

I know it's boring to agree on the internet, but I'm 100% with you.
I wonder if the plan is for Tomlinson to go to left back and Lavinier fills a wide striker role, seeing as we didn't get a winger/wide striker in
Apparently Morris had Lavinier at Chelsea youth level, and used him in a variety of positions. So he could be repurposed possibly, agree. It’s rare that an attacking full back looks good when starting higher up the pitch though

I think you can only sign free agents if they were free agents when the window shut

It’s rare that an attacking full back looks good when starting higher up the pitch though Phillip Lahm and Joshua Kimmich have done okay... and Marcel is definitely in that class

If the preferred formation is 4231 there would be absolutely no harm in trying Hutton ahead of Lavinier and vice versa.
Sure, it might not work but no reason not to try it…

Got no issues with FBT at centre back but in an ideal window I would have liked to have seen a more like for like replacement for MacDonald.
A Grant like midfielder would have been a cherry on top of the cake.
Austin was the big signing though.

Aguiar & Parsons if you count them. Can’t remember how long they are out on loan for.

Loans out are a funny one, based on the original announcements Aguiar, Parsons, Cowmeadow and Dabre should all be back by now, but none of them seem to be, so have to assume extensions?

Good window overall but a centre back short. Minturn looked good the other day so hopefully we can see a bit more from him for the rest of the season. Has looked streaks better than Brennan to me

my verdict on yesterday: we come out slightly weaker then we went in. But keeping willo was huge.
on the window: Austin was a massive signing, keep him fit and we are probably in with a chance.
take Austin away and we are weaker than we were

But do you mean weaker in quality or quantity?
I reckon we’re up on quality.

I agree with Batch, I think we are weaker overall.
Can we honestly say we have improved on Gladwin, Reed and Macdonald?

Reed definitely - he was disinterested.
Macdonald never wowed me.
Gladwin slowed us down - as seen in the last 2 games when he didn’t start.
Not forgetting the Lindsey factor of not having a fucking clue.
