To be honest I doubt we’ll hear the word ‘data’ again after this season.

According to my data, we don't kick the ball in the goal enough

And now we're selling the only player who consistently DOES kick it in the goal.

Be interested to see how the club put a positive spin on that!

Agreed. The truth is 'data' is not an advanced thing, its something most people do now. It can also be used very badly.

Regardless of data the truth is that connections and who you know still has a huge impact and the worry with the current set up is how little of that we have.

Yup. Gut feel says Sandro won’t stick around long.

on the data thing, bit early to judge.

Bit too simple to blame the results on the technique too.

I mean we could have 50p and a couple of 1980s opal fruits to spend. No system is going to find gems with that

You're right data is not a new thing but between them Angus, Clem, Sandro & Lindsey have all chose to mention it on serval occasions but at the moment the jury is still out "for me" on recruitment so far.

I’d like to think even this club wouldn’t sell the man who notched 25 goals and 10 assists last season. Safe to say we’re gonna need him even more this season.

If we were to sell him, I promise you as daft as this may sound, there will be people that will defend it and put a positive spin on it.

I’d understand it at the start of the window, time to replace, wasn’t quite on form etc etc. but not now, not with 1 day or so to go in the window, would be suicidal from the regime - simple as that.

Often in football you need to speculate to accumulate, we currently seem to be searching down the back of a sofa for lost cash that we found discarded on the road side.

Defo to early to say RE data driven recruitment. Some look like they are coming good now, Brynn, Clayton, Khan, Wakeling and Darcy all being very fair examples of that.

We’re 100% short up front though and need an out and out right back. Think we could do with another centre mid also whos abit more combative

yeah I agree

but even 'with connections' would we be doing the same?

would Chorley have found better with the same cash? We'll never know

I'm pretty sure with Chorley and basically anyone else, we wouldn't be in a position where we had to loan a player to play LB and still look to recruit a RB, because we had 'completed' our squad and only signed wing backs. Lindsey only wanted one more remember. We had glaring gaps in the make up of the squad despite having much greater numbers. It was and is absolutely crazy.
