As much as I rate him, we would be stupid to waste a loan spot on another left back.

Agreed, we need a right-back with Hutton as cover. He obviously sees Shade further up the pitch and I think he showed signs of promise in that position in the second half on Saturday.

Better than anyone in the squad at left back and probably right back, given he seemed naturally two footed.

Lindsey said as much in his presser this afternoon - Shade and Hutton are more wing backs/wingers.

Joe Tomlinson looking for a loan move to get regular starts.
Surely a no brainer.
With you all the way. Looked a bloody good footballer who liked playing here and could slot into various positions without a problem.

Darragh has debunked plenty of stuff on twitter before though that has ended up happening.
Seemingly doesn't like like it when anything gets out in the media.
Also, his tweet about tonight being JT's 3rd start requires context. 2 carabao games and a paint pot. Hardly sustainable game time is it.

Would love Tomlinson back on loan or a perm deal, happily play him at right back as hes predominantly right footed anyway playing as an right footed left wingback when he was here but played right back at Hungerford and Eastleigh previously. He freely admits he loved his time at Swindon and also his familt still live here, absolute no brainer for me to get him back. He said: "Unfortunately my season and my time at @officialstfc is over.
Not many players get to say they played for their hometown club and I loved every minute of it!
The players and staff have been fantastic and I’ll continue to support the boys in their fight for promotion!
Thank you to the amazing fans, I didn’t get to play in front of you as much as I would like but when I did your support was brilliant and I can’t thank you enough! See you all soon x 🔴⚪️#stfc"

When/if we sign a striker and McGurty stays, who drops out?

Hutton/Darcy drop out for Tomlinson if he does come, Shade for McKirdy if Harry does stay, then take your pick between Williams, Gladwin, Reed and Khan to be rotated if we get another striker and go 442/451/433. But its all "what ifs" at the moment.

I’d imagine the Williams/Gladwin alternation will be back in full force. Also, don’t forget we lose Williams for up to 6 weeks from November.
