But that's the way we work. Unfortunately as soon as any players show form and bids are made they are gone. The only hope we have is if the buying club allow us to keep the player on loan. This club will never change unless we get some multi millionaire chairman and I can't see that happening any time soon.
Indeed. For all we know a player sale may be needed to ensure the club is funded through to the end of the season - I really wouldn’t be surprised and I certainly wouldn’t describe it as ‘lunacy’. |

if we sell DJ for no reason but to keep the lights on then we may as well give up on the season and worry if there's going to be another.
I don't think he'll be sold though.

Wasn't that one of the reasons Doughty left? As he was the highest earner. Him ripping up his contract (honourably might I add) kept the meters turning?!  |

If we are at the point where we need to sell to survive then a lot of other clubs will be in a similar boat and thus won’t pay transfer fees anyway.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we let people go for free just to move them off the wage bill. Particular those heading north.
