But I still don’t get it. If he was on, guessing,£2000pw last season and has been offered £1500 this, why does he think he’ll squeeze more out of Power and risk the situation of having no club at all if he doesn’t.
Also, why haven’t the club made it perfectly clear that what they are offering is all he’s going to get.
Why all the cat and mouse stuff? It’s in everybody’s interest to have sorted it out way before now. Ffs, the season starts in 3 days.

Because he has better offers money wise, but doesn't want to move up north and doesn't want to stay in League 2. From what I can gather, we've not been particularly generous. All power to him I say. He'll get a club.

Absolutely this, I don't think its a small cut in wages he has been offered, its a considerable amount but with extra bonuses based on appearances etc. I don't blame him at all for dragging his feet and looking for a better deal elsewhere but lets face it, its unlikely to be in L1 if he does move on.

Personally, I think RW needs to realise how much Power has supported him! Considering we have had no income for 6 months, and who knows when we will, I think Power has played this very well. Power has seen Woolery play for a number of seasons, he’s seen him relegated from league one, play in a team where the club finished its lowest, and then saw him play a bit part in a promotion team. So why on earth will he all of a sudden have grown the ability to set league 1 alight??

Well, if you ain’t going to piss, get off the pot! If he has, indeed, got a better offer, then why doesn’t he just take it instead of hanging around STFC like some lovestruck teenager.

Point of info..... KW has never played for us in Div 3.... Doughty, Iandolo, Conroy and Twine were around in our last Div 3 relegation

Because he may want to stay down South, as PP said, he probably wants to stay at Swindon and is waiting for an offer similar to what he was on, rather than go to a club for more money where he will be unhappy.

Because the window is open for a few more weeks, and it's a big personal decision. It's completely his prerogoative. Why would we expect him to behave differently from the way any of us would. If my existing employer offered me a 25% pay cut, take it by October 12th or piss off, I'd absolutely hang around for as long as I want and try to get them to come up while looking at every offer, particularly if the only offer I have on the table elsewhere is 200miles away and for a worse company.

Also, I don’t think anyone is expecting Woolery to ‘set league 1 alight’, even Wellens. But it’s pretty clear Woolery’s strengths are required. I feel for him a bit, how many players can bring the most assists to a championship winning side where the reward is a contract offer on reduced terms?

Considering lower league football clubs are making hardly any money right now. I think our business has been good. Payne, Grant, DJ, Pitman can't have come cheap.

McGilp played for Chesterfield against Belper last night prior to a probable move.

Some sort of announcement was expected today, whether that's still the case --- who knows?
Today would be good timing for a (positive) BBC Wilts understands.

At the weekend Wellens said a decision would be made on Monday.
yesterday he said he wanted to sign him, but upstairs hadn't yet done so
don't think we'll hear much today
